Spirit, Fire, Fact features four compositions from Ingrid Laubrock’s forthcoming record of the same name. Written during a period of political upheaval and personal grief, these works reflect the intersections of public action and private memory.
As Laubrock moved between participating in anti-ICE protests and revisiting memories of her father, the music became a space where reflection, resilience, and collective expression could coexist. Performed by an exceptional ensemble with guest DoYeon Kim on gayageum and live video art by Miah Artola, Spirit, Fire, Fact is a deeply personal and timely exploration of life’s shifting emotional landscape.
