Music is Mine (MiM) Education Program
Arts for Art Education Program (MiM) brings music to underserved, diverse youth to create opportunities that strengthen their creative and social skills and cultural awareness. We bring workshops and lecture demonstrations to schools to help ensure that these children are exposed to a world approach to music education. Music is Mine uses music-making to address youths' need to:
■ Strengthen their collaborative skill, by working with others toward a common creative goal;
■ Improve their situational awareness, by exercising their ability to understand and make decisions based on how a group or ensemble works;
■ Gain appreciation for improvised world music forms while increasing their musical skill, experiences, and knowledge as instrumentalists, vocalists, improvisers, and expressive communicators.
