afa is hosting an important discussion with artists who curate spaces around nyc to find ways to support our community at risk. followed by a performance by the affw marching band, we will celebrate with a dance party. it is time to take the safety of our diverse constituents and the art we make seriously.
ice is deporting innocent immigrants – who is next? our education system is being starved. the healthcare system is failing us and the withdrawal of federal funding will mean that many will die. housing is already becoming a luxury that too many can’t afford. art has always been at risk of marginalization. it is considered a luxury item rather than an important part of what gives a community expression and hope.
